The Niche of a Prairie Dog:


The niche of a prairie dog is helpful to many different animals, in many different ways. Prairie dogs are known to dig massif holes in the ground for shelter and protection from many predators. But their shelters also help with many other animals protection an shelter, such as snakes, borrowing owls, chipmunks, skunks, gerbils, mice and voles. They also serve as food to predators.
